INVERTERS
Inverters are a one way street, they use DC from a battery and produce 240v AC for you to run electrical appliances or lights.
Inverters should not be confused with Inverter / chargers. Systems with inverters will need a additional charge source for the battery. This could be a charger, solar charger or a vehicles alternator.
Inverter VA ratings explained

Victron Inverters are rated in VA.
To convert VA to watts it really depends on what type of equipment is being powered.

An easy rule of thumb conversion would be to times VA by 0.8 power factor.
​
2000VA becomes 1600w.
This is the inverters continuous rating.
Keep in mind a 1600w inverter is rated at 1600w at 25 degrees, increase the temperature to 40 degrees and its rating is reduced to 1400w
​
Victron Inverters will peak for high power applications like starting motors.
the 2000VA (1600w) Inverter peaks to 3500w.

Inverters can use large amounts of energy from your batteries, we advise the use of a battery monitor which will show you your batteries state of charge in a % (SOC).

Victron battery monitors can also connect to the Victron Cerbo GX display, this gives you information on both your DC and AC systems in one place. This can even be viewed remotely if internet is availabe.

Keep the distance short between the batteries and inverter. This will reduce the cable size required.

Try to avoid installing inverters in hot environments. If unavoidable it might be better to oversize the inverter for what you need.

All the Victron Inverters that are listed as "Smart" can be set up using the free Victron Connect app.

Some Victron Inverters can be joined together and will work in parallel for higher loads. Three Inverters can also be used for Three phase applications. A total of nine inverters can be used on a single system.
